We source our Lago Suchitlán coffee from Jose Roberto Santamaria who owns and manages Las Isabellas farm in western El Salvador. We take the name from the location of the farm by Lake Suchitlán, a reservoir which is the largest body of fresh water in El Salvador. Suchitlán is an Aztec word meaning place of flowers, which helps describe this delicate coffee with hints of butterscotch and strong fruits.
The area in which Lago Suchitlán comes from is excellent for coffee growing with a unique micro climate and strong bio-diversity. The farm from which we source Lago Suchutlán works very closely with the local community funding schooling initiatives and partnering with the local city to build water systems.
