Coffee beans from Colombia come with an excellent reputaion with the country being known as one of the finest coffee growing regions in the world. Colombians have been growing coffee since the late 18th century and have grown to be the worlds third largest growers.
This brilliant Colombian single origin coffee of the Caturra, Typica and Bourbon varieties, is hints of chocolate and nuts. It brews wonderfully as a filter coffee and gives sweet and bright flavours as an espresso coming from it being a fully washed coffee.
In the nineteenth century, Antioquia was a sovereign state in Colombia with its capital in Medellín and home to Ferrocarril de Antioquia, an historic railway system which opened on 7 August 1929. Great Explorer Antioquia celebrates the novel and technologically challenging transport system which travels through the steep valleys of Antioquia with this coffee rekindling the essence of Colombia and highlighting its importance as a coffee growing region.
